Prayas coaches the children to appear for their 10th & 12th grade levels through NIOS. These exams are accredited equal to the CBSE and ICSE examinations. The main advantage that NIOS offers to the students is in the flexibility of time schedule of the examination and the choice of subjects.
Giving execution to our mission of Inclusive Education, the team of Prayas intends to support the mainstream schools by conducting regular workshops and training programmes for teachers so as to fine tune their teaching ability and in turn to effectively implement them for children with multiple activities.
We conduct workshops that will incorporate a variety of subjects like methods of learning, understanding learning styles, co-teaching, learning disability, classroom motivation, behavioral issues among teenagers, developmental theories, theories of learning, lateral thinking, value education, phonics, enhancing fine motor skills, gifted children, learning Hindi- the valley way, multiple intelligence, mind mapping, developing listening skills, educators as caring & confident leaders etc.
The Campus is a bunglow of 2500 sq.feet area extended to three floors. The classrooms have been divided using partitions so as to cater the needs of small as well as big groups. This also enables us to give attention for one to one interaction with students.
We also provide hostel facility to kids coming from remote areas. Facilities of nutritious home cooked food and doctors are provided in the hostel. The administration caters to any emergency needs of the students.
Each child is unique in himself and has his own challenges and limitations. To address them and cater to their educational needs a psycho academic assessment has to be conducted. Based on these tests the educator understands the emotional, social and the academic level of the concerned child. The centre is well equipped to conduct these assessments and also celebrates the child’s progress through regular IQ and aptitude tests.
The centre conducts remediation programs for children with learning differences. These programs help the child to improve upon with their difficulty in language, art and mathematics. This additional support at the centre also helps the child to improve on their reading and writing skills.
It needs great patience and skill to teach children with learning differences. An educator who imparts such virtues in them also needs to be well equipped mentally apart from a sound knowledge on the subject. The core strength of PRAYAS is the team of educators and psychologist who have been rigorously trained in various teaching methodologies to deliver the finer aspects in teaching each subject with ease and finesse. This core team conducts regular workshops for in house educators as well as aspiring educators who intend to hone their educational skills. The workshop consists of classroom management techniques, instructional strategies………….and other such techniques that equips the teacher to meet the requirement of an inclusive and successful classroom.
